All Churched Out

We live in a strange day. People are disconnecting from traditional churches in droves. It’s actually very sad. Jesus desires His Church to grow and thrive. There will always be challenges to the Church. There will always be attacks on the Church. There will always be “interesting” people in Church. But, the Church is still a gift from God.

The Church is where we are challenged. The Church is where we allow ourselves to be held accountable and responsible. The Church is where we are inspired. The Church is where we work. The Church is where we grow.

It’s actually understandable that so many people are “all churched out.” The Church has not evolved enough to effectively deal with the tough issues facing people today. In some cases, it’s the “same ‘ole same ‘ole.”

There are far too many distractions. Far too many choices. Far too many reasons to no longer be connected. Truthfully, far too many churches that have become rather irrelevant.

The Church needs to re-think its organizational structure, its focus, and its strategies. Bury all the unnecessary Sacred Cows. Modernize, but maintain the integrity of the Word of God. Touch people where they need to be touched. As John Maxwell once put it, “Give people what they need, in a way they want to receive it.”

If you are All Churched Out, find your way back to a good place. Rekindle your relationship with God. Don’t focus on people. Focus on the Savior.

Better days are ahead for you. Maximize this moment. Kiss the past goodbye. Get ready to be blessed.
